Behavior Modification

I work with all dogs and all breeds from your basic behavior problems, to fearful dogs, aggressive dogs and dogs who simply do not know how to play.

There are several ways to define behavior, but one of the ways behavior can be defined is the way an animal or human reacts to a paritcular situation (or stimulus). 

Behavior Modification, then is the systematic approach to changing behavior.

It is important for people to understand that when we are dealing with 

Behavior Modification such as counter surfing, reactivity, anxiety, nervous or fearful behavior or even dog aggression, we are looking to change more than simply what the dog does.

Sometimes it is possible to temporarily suppress these behaviors, but unless you treat the underlying problem you will never experience positive results and over time behaviors may actual worsen.

Our goal is to change your dogs attitude so that they are no longer anxious.  

This means setting our dogs up for success. 

It is important to understand how to read our dogs subtle body language and behaviors that show us that our dogs are uncomfortable. Our dogs need clear communication from us so that they can understand exactly what is expected of them.

I look at each dog as an individual. 

What works well for one dog, will not always work for another. 

Training is NOT a one size fits all package. 

I will work to create the best program that I can for you and your dog.
